 BUDGET 2017 has been announced revealing a number of changes for diesel drivers including increased car tax, which could add up to £500 on to the first year rate for diesel drivers. Here is what you need to know about the new changes and how much they will cost you.



Chancellor Philip Hammond delivered the Autumn Budget today which saw a number of new changes introduced for UK drivers. Diesel owners were the particular focus of the new legislations which is hardly surprising after the condemnation of these vehicles over the past year. The Government’s fight to crackdown on air pollution has become more aggressive over the past few months, with new levies such as the Toxic T-Charge in London and parking surcharges being introduced to combat emissions. In the Spring Budget, Philip Hammond said that he would "explore the appropriate tax treatment for diesel vehicles” ahead of the Autumn Budget.
